Do Good and Do Right Continues!

STANDING FIRM. All in all, 2024 was a more difficult year than usual, with the external context forcing continual risk assessment and adjustments to our work and activities. But when we reviewed our advances and accomplishments during 2024, it all seemed rather amazing! As a collective, we managed so do so much. The promoters, office staff and volunteers pulled together and figured out ways to make things happen.

PROGRAMS. Important programs continued if they were household-based and did not involve groups of children. These programs were: special needs; condolence visits; gardens and stoves; and the safe motherhood program (in a touching show of loyalty, pregnant women just continued to show up at the Atzin Centre to be seen by the midwife, Victoria). Other programs were put on hold for the time being.
YOTLAKAT NON SIWATL - A WOMAN REBORN. In 2025, a priority focus is strengthening our village partner, Yotlakat Non Siwatl, (YNS) as an organization and as a voice for its members and the community. The YNS members, either present-day promoters who are currently working on Atzin-YNS programs or women who want to support their village, have identified their learning needs toward greater self-sufficiency. Change is in the air – a reason to celebrate!
